Hanna is built by The Solutioners Labs, a Toronto-based Active Intelligence software company. Our founders spent 25+ years building production technology in broadcast studios, financial services firms, and cybersecurity operations. Not research labs. Not consulting firms. Places where the software had to work on Monday morning.
We kept seeing the same gap. The large institutions have massive technology budgets. The independent dealer, the MGA, the accounting firm, and the advisory practice do not. But they still have the same regulatory obligations, the same data volumes, and the same client expectations. Hanna closes that gap.
Hanna is not a prototype. It is production software for regulated firms managing real client assets with real operating obligations. The product exists to make Monday morning easier, faster, and more controlled.
Why we built it
We built Hanna because independent firms are expected to operate with the same discipline as much larger institutions, but without the same internal tooling. The answer was not a detached artificial layer sitting beside the work. The answer was Active Intelligence: a working layer that reads the firm's real data, stays inside the operating flow, connects context, and supports follow-through across the firm.
We build for Canadian regulations first - CIRO, OSFI, FSRA, PIPEDA, CRA, and FINTRAC. Compliance obligations are not an afterthought in the product. They are the starting point.
All Hanna infrastructure runs on Google Cloud in Toronto. Canadian data residency is part of the operating model, not just a marketing line.
Founders
Nasir has spent 25+ years building at the intersection of media and intelligence - from pioneering one of the world's first Unreal Engine-driven newsrooms to training a generation of broadcast engineers, editors, and animators.
That work pulled him into AI governance, cybersecurity, and fintech - not as buzzwords, but as the guardrails and plumbing that let real teams ship products their customers can trust. His standard is simple: not every problem needs a model, but when one does, it should be built with care, tested with rigour, and deployed with accountability.
Jawad has spent over a decade in technology and cybersecurity, with roles at Salesforce, Rogers, and Global Financial solving complex operational challenges at scale. A Master's in Engineering from the University of Regina shaped the foundation.
For Jawad, governance, security, and compliance are not checkboxes - they are what lets innovation hold up under pressure. He founded The Solutioners, then co-founded The Solutioners Labs with Nasir to focus on Active Intelligence. He does not just talk about responsible AI; he builds it.
